The 'voice' may have arrived late to the world of cinema, yet filmmakers have always mastered the art of cinematography to represent those verbal interactions that so much characterize us as humans. Passed the time of silent movies, “talkies” became one of the most influential ways to speak about important topics for our society – sometimes providing a mean of communication to those who had none.
This year, for its seventh edition, the Uppsala Franska Filmfestival presents a wide selection of films to which everybody can relate. Stories of broken communications, lost contacts, hidden interactions or misunderstandings. Stories, also, where language brings people together, the 'voice' delivers justice and words save lives.
The festival also celebrates the 100th anniversary of Ingmar Bergman in his beloved hall with the films “Jour de fete” and “Leon Morin priest”. Last but not least, you are also welcome to join us at our opening night on November 22nd. Start the festival with the treats provided by our partner Picard® and watching "In bed with Victoria", one of the best French comedies of recent years. Welcome to these four days and discover the thousand and one aspects of the ‘voice’ at the Slottsbiografen!Get the program
